With Archilectron, Lander explores the space between sculpture and architecture. The work creates a place rather than a mere object - a structure that invites physical and mental engagement.
The massive oak beams evoke a connection to landscape, memory and ancient forms of construction, recalling menhirs, obelisks and megalithic structures. Embedded within the wood, the cast aluminium elements introduce a contrasting technological language, reminiscent of circuitry and futuristic systems.
By combining the organic and the industrial, the archaic and the futuristic, Archilectron reflects on the monument of our time: a place where material, memory and human presence converge. 2016
