During camping trips, Lander rummages through bins and discarded materials, looking for whatever might serve as a starting point for a sculpture.
These photograps document the making of a sculpture he wanted to set free on the water - a kind of guardian of the river. At times, it resembles a space shuttle on the verge of raking off; at others, a static sentinel standing watch. Eventually, the sculpture becomes part of the current itself, carried downstream by the flow of the river.
