This sculpture explores the dialogue between permanence and origin.
It begins with the archetype of the classical column—a symbol of order, stability and civilization—from which an organic form gradually emerges, as if growing from within. A language of cells, erosion and natural evolution slowly takes over the geometry of the stone.
Carved from Carrara marble, a material born over millions of years from ancient seas, compressed shells and immense geological pressure, the sculpture carries the memory of the ocean within it. Returning it to the sea after its completion didn’t feel like placing it in a landscape—it felt like bringing it home.
For a brief moment, the material encountered its own origin again.
The waves crashing around its organic core almost seem unreal, as if generated by AI. Yet nothing here was orchestrated. It was simply the sea recognizing a fragment of its own history.
For a fleeting moment, material, memory and landscape became one. 2026
